DPD Germany, the second-largest parcel delivery service provider in the country, is now partnering with hey circle to make parcel shipping more sustainable.
Every year, DPD ships over 350 million parcels, and it has now decided to make a significant contribution to reducing single-use packaging and CO₂ emissions. Starting today, DPD business customers can benefit from hey circle's reusable shipping boxes and bags. These packaging solutions provide an eco-friendly, durable alternative to conventional shipping materials while also helping businesses save significant costs by reusing packaging multiple times.

“Our partnership with hey circle is another important step towards more sustainable parcel shipping,” says Dr. Karsten Schwarz, CEO of DPD Germany. “We want to offer our customers innovative, environmentally friendly solutions that can seamlessly integrate into their existing shipping processes. hey circle's reusable shipping bags are a perfect addition to our portfolio.”
The reusable boxes and bags from hey circle can be used for up to 50 cycles between businesses and their customers, as well as for internal shipping. This not only significantly reduces waste but also minimizes packaging effort. Additionally, retailers with high return rates can benefit from the long lifespan of these packaging solutions, eliminating the need for frequent reorders of single-use materials.
DPD and hey circle's collaboration began with a pilot project last year, during which 200 XL boxes were sent between the production facility of the clothing manufacturer Trigema and its stores. The results: less waste, lower costs, and seamless integration into existing logistics processes.
Under the partnership, DPD will facilitate the connection between hey circle and its business customers, making it easier to integrate the reusable shipping packaging into current logistics systems.
“Our vision at hey circle is clear: we want to make parcel shipping waste-free and sustainable. The partnership with DPD is a significant step towards achieving this goal. We look forward to working with DPD to win lighthouse customers and further establish reusable shipping in the logistics industry,” says Doris Diebold, founder of hey circle.

How the Reusable Shipping Works with hey circle
Businesses can use hey circle's reusable boxes and bags for shipping without paying a deposit. A return label is included, and the packaging can be returned either empty and folded or filled with goods. Returns are easy, either handed directly to the DPD driver or taken to one of the drop-off points. Upon return to the warehouse, the packaging is checked, cleaned, and prepared for the next shipment.
This simple handling makes reusable shipping not only eco-friendly but also efficient and cost-saving.
With the DPD and hey circle partnership, a sustainable logistics future is on the horizon. Together with DPD, hey circle is setting an example for an environmentally conscious future in parcel shipping and invites businesses to take this important step.
